Verizon’s Galaxy Note 3 now receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop

Another day, another update to Android 5.0 Lollipop. This time, it’s Verizon Wireless’ variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

For owners of the aging handset, the new software will more than likely be a welcomed addition. And as is par for the course for this sort of update, the Galaxy Note 3 will play host to Google’s new Material Design aesthetic, along with plenty of new features like new lock screen notifications. Improvements to Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz are also included, along with Smart Lock and more.

It’s an over the air (OTA) update, and these take time to land on all of the handsets out in the wild, so if you haven’t received your update notification just yet, stay tuned. The rollout has just begun today, April 15, so it could take some time. Of course, you could head into Settings –> General –> System Update –> Update Now to see if the update is available to download.

Do you still own a Galaxy Note 3? If so, are you looking forward to getting Android 5.0?
