Verizon could force customers that use an ‘extraordinary amount’ of unlimited data to change plans

Right now, unlimited data on wireless networks like Verizon Wireless are a thing of the past, but there is a small number of customers that have yet to give it up and probably don’t plan on letting go any time soon. But the jig may be up for those unlimited data subscribers who use an “extraordinary amount” of data each month.

According to a report from Droid-Life, Verizon is going to start contacting unlimited data customers with “extraordinary” usage today, July 21, and inform them that if they do not switch to The Verizon Plan, they’ll have their lines shut off on August 31.

If that does happen, the customer will have 50 days to reactivate their line, but only if they do so with a new Verizon Plan.

Verizon has apparently stated that there is only a “small number” of customers that fall into this category of “extraordinary” usage, but just how much data that is remains a mystery.

It’s not a surprise that Verizon wants to get more of its customers off its unlimited plans and subscribed to its tiered options; this is just another way to see that become a reality.
