T-Mobile’s Galaxy S5 now getting updated to Android 5.1.1

Even when using an older phone, the prospect of getting new software is always nice. For owners of the aging Samsung Galaxy S5 under T-Mobile’s network umbrella, the magenta carrier has some good news.

According to a report from SamMobile, T-Mobile has begun pushing out an update to Android 5.1.1 for the Galaxy S5. As of publishing, T-Mobile hasn’t published the changelog for the new software, so what exactly was added or changed isn’t known just yet. However, the arrival of the newest public version of Android should be a welcomed one for Galaxy S5 owners.

If you’ve got a T-Mobile Galaxy S5, you can head into Settings –> About device –> Software update –> Ok to try and pull the update down directly to your handset.

If you own a Galaxy S5, are you looking forward to this update?
