Many folks that are interested in the LG G4 have been playing the “Will it or won’t it?†game lately in regards to the G4 and support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 support. Thankfully, we finally have a concrete answer to that question.
LG has confirmed that, yes, the G4 does support Quick Charge 2.0. The company tells Pocketnow that while it didn’t set out with plans to support the feature, the inclusion of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 processor in the G4 means that the phone does technically support it. The bad news is that the G4’s in-box wall charger doesn’t support Quick Charge 2.0, so you’re going to need a new wall wart — such as the Motorola Turbo Charger — if you want to juice up your G4 in a hurry.
While Quick Charge 2.0 probably isn’t a make-or-break feature for most folks when it comes to considering an LG G4 purchase, it’s definitely good to see that the feature is supported in the device. After all, it’s a flagship phone, and so many would-be buyers would like it to have big-time features like Quick Charge 2.0. And who wouldn’t prefer to be able to charge their smartphone in a hurry?
How many of you have used Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0?
