It seems that something is funky with the way Samsung implemented Lollipop on the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S5, at least on AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon. None of those devices worked with Android Auto for whatever reason, seemingly doing nothing when plugged into an Android Auto deck.
Now the Android Auto app has been updated to support those phones. If you have one of them and are one of the few running an Android Auto deck in your car, check out the update on the Play Store to get everything working properly! Of course, you’ll have to have your device updated to Lollipop for it to work.
Though Android Auto is a rarity so far, it’s good to see even older devices being supported. Hopefully we’ll see the automotive takeover of Android in the near future.
